Cigarette butts are one of the leading causes of litter. They may be small but they add up. Since every storm drain in Pulaski eventually leads into Peak Creek, when a butt is thrown in the street it will eventually make its way into the stream. Using a grant awarded to FOPC by Keep Virginia Beautiful, the Stash Your Ash Campaign was introduced. Cigarette butt containers were given, free of charge, to five downtown businesses for placement on the sidewalk outside of their establishments. Thank you to MOVA Technologies, Martin’s Pharmacy, Next Level VT, Lizard Licks, and the Town of Pulaski for adopting a container. Any business in Downtown Pulaski may request a container.
